Procedural vulnerability with special reference to old age

This paper examines the condition of procedural vulnerability arising from old age. It begins with the imperative to harmonize domestic and international human rights law in order to ensure the effective protection of the rights of older persons, with particular emphasis on access to justice. From this foundation, legislative and regulatory reform proposals are advanced to foster the aforementioned harmonization, with the objective of promoting and institutionalizing a justice system grounded in an age-sensitive approach.
