As sanções unilaterais dos Estados Unidos da América: base jurídica e avaliação das adotadas em defesa da democracia e dos direitos humanos

As medidas unilaterais dos Estados como sanção sempre levantam questões de uma forma ou de outra. Este artigo analisa o conjunto de instrumentos internos à disposição dos Estados Unidos para adotar tais medidas como instrumento de política externa, com especial referência às situações de violação de direitos humanos e defesa da democracia. À base interna serão adicionados o analise do tipo de sanções impostas, a legalidade internacional de sua adoção e os impactos que tiveram com base em sua finalidade.
