Half a century ago (1972), the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was held in Stockholm, Sweden. The environment took center stage, a series of management principles were agreed upon and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was created. We take advantage of this anniversary to offer an edition of LACHE Notebooks dedicated to the environmental challenges facing humanity. Transitions, as processes of change or transformation, have a profoundly political component and in many cases imply radical changes in structures, practices and ways of thinking. We hope that these texts contribute to building bridges between knowledge, between academia and politics, between citizens.
